	Shepharding water past numerous water users to Great Salt Lake is a hot topic of discussion now.
	There is a lot of emerging work on the topic of water equity. Will work follow the path of "resiliency" where there are numerous metrics specific to individual watersheds or case studies? Or can we identify some overarching principles and insights to adaptively manage massive infrastructure systems and reduce conflicting and different system, user, Tribal, ecosystem, and other vulnerabilities?
	Water kept in Lake Mead through the conservation program (Intentionally Created Surplus program) can temporarily boost reservoir level
	Adapt reservoir releases to inflow to prevent drawdown to the protection elevation
	Provide basin actors a choice of new management paradigms from which to improve.
	Multiple Colorado River actors say they want more reliable, resilient, sustainable, adaptive, actionable, and equitable management
	Build more human connections to increase system equity
	Provide finaniceal incentives to turn a subtraction problem of large mandatory water use reductions into an addition activity. Pay farmers and ranchers more to voluntarily adopt and sustain water use reduction technologies.
	I feel scientists use slingshots to try to insert their findings into policy discussions with mixed results.
	Bring people together to solve complex water problems.
	New Federal leadership to reduce Lake Powell release by 0.5 million acre-feet in April and May and reach a larger conservation goal by August.
	I drew this cartoon in the Las Vegas airport after leaving the 2021 Colorado River Water Users conference. There are many reasons to hope and lots of work to do.
	Basin events around the western U.S. are moving fast. Develop plans even as they are already in motion.
	Plan for a basin becoming more arid, not a temporary drought. Follow numerous messages by Brad Udall and others.
	I hear lots of Colorado River talk about including more people in management like First Nations, environmental organizations, and other groups.
	A first step in a collaborative process is to define the word collaborate.
	Starting a new collaboration takes time and effort to figure out how your partner(s) move.
	Great choices of which stakeholder breakfast to attend at the Colorado River Water Users conference.
	With more money, the 500,000 acre-foot plan for Lake Mead can scale up to larger water conservation targets.
